Short Chapter Books

Short Chapter Books

I love short chapter books.  They tell a full story and don't take long to read.  Here are three books that are completely unrelated except for the fact they are short good books.

Morning Girl
by Michael Dorris

With anger & kindness, calmness & excitement, we see how Morning Girl and her brother Star Boy experience life before Christopher Columbus's arrival at their island.

Published: 1992
Genre: Historical Fiction

A Blue-Eyed Daisy

by Cynthia Rylant

In A Blue-Eyed Daisy, we experience a year in the life of 11 year old Ellie as she deals with school, her alcoholic father, four older sisters, a serious mother, and their new hunting dog Bullet.

Published: 1985
Genre: Realistic Fiction

Love That Dog
by Sharon Creech

By reading Jack's poetry journal, we learn how he feels about  famous poems and get an inside look into his personal life.
