James and the Giant Peach

JAMES and the GIANT PEACH
by ROALD DAHL

James lived a perfectly happy life up until the age of 4 when his parents died and he was sent off to live with his horrible aunts.

For three years, they beat him, worked him, and deprived him of friends, until a little man gave James a bag full of powerful magical green thingies.

After accidentally spilling them by his aunts' peach tree something peculiar happened.  From the tree which hadn't bore fruit in years grew a peach the size of a small house.

And with that James's adventures began.
